LSH Auto Australia has welcomed the commencement of a second Melbourne based free clinic for the homeless with Street Side Medics adding St Kilda to the Melbourne city centre clinic, launched in September of last year.

The new clinic was made possible by LSH Auto’s ongoing donation of Mercedes-Benz vans to be fitted as mobile medical facilities. Australia’s leading Mercedes-Benz retail group has now donated five vans in the five years since Street Side Medics was launched at LSH Auto’s Mercedes-Benz Sydney facility, in May of 2020. The latest donation being announced during the launch of the Melbourne clinic held, last year, at Mercedes-Benz Melbourne in the presence of Prime Minster Athony Albanese.

Street Side Medics was founded by 2022 Young Australian of the Year, Dr Daniel Nour, and since inception has grown to operate in four locations around Sydney and now two in Melbourne. The fully volunteer staffed clinics take medical services to locations where the homeless and disadvantaged can have access to the free heath testing, medical advice, treatment and referral to supporting specialists. Since launch Street Side Medics have provided in excess of 15,000 medical consultations.

Attending the St Kilda launch were LSH Auto Australia Managing Director, John Good and Mayor of the City of Port Phillip, Cr Louise Crawford. Mr Good reasserted LSH Auto’s commitment to remaining a core partner of Street Side Medics. “We have been on this journey with Daniel since the very beginning. His dedication to growing Street Side Medics has been unwavering and the result is an expanding, much needed, organisation serving the needs of those less fortunate across our two largest cities and soon to go even further. We are extremely proud of being a contributing member of our communities through our work with Dr Nour and his team.”

Dr Nour thanked the many volunteers, Street Side Medics team members, local government representatives and corporate partners, such as LSH Auto, for their invaluable assistance in establishing the second Melbourne clinic. “Our supporters and partners make the clinics possible. LSH Auto has been with us from the start, and we thank them for their ongoing support. We simply could not do it without them.”
